LEAD PASTORS - Hal and Lisa Boehm
Hal was raised in Charleston, WV, and received a BA in Christian Ministries from Belhaven College in Jackson, MS. Hal also received his Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University's Graduate School of Theology where he graduated with highest honors. He was also selected as the Seminarian of the Year by the faculty and staff of the seminary. For three years, he was on the pastoral staff of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as the director of Victory World Missions Training Center, a practical training program for full-time missionaries. In this capacity, he trained over 130 missionaries who are presently serving all over the world. In 1996, Hal and Lisa started Catchfire! Ministries, a missions mobilizing organization designed to catch the church on fire for the nations and the nations on fire for Jesus. They have ministered in over 40 nations through short-term missions trips, mass evangelism crusades and leadership conferences. Before Catchfire!, Hal had also been an associate pastor and a youth pastor for six years in Charleston, WV. Lisa was raised in Greeneville, TN, and is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and was an elementary teacher in the public school system for thirteen years in West Virginia and Oklahoma. She also holds a Bible degree from the National Organization of Bible Institute. She is an anointed teacher of the Bible and has spoken to women’s groups, teen retreats and children’s ministries here in the United States. And along with her husband, Hal, she has ministered in various nations around the world. Lisa loves to travel and has a passion for missions. She and Hal have been married since 1984 and have one beautiful daughter, Isabella Rebecca.
EXECUTIVE PASTORS - RANDY & RENEE ELLIS
As Executive Pastors, Randy and Renee provide spiritual and administrative oversight to our children's and youth ministries, also to our faithful volunteers who serve on our Impact Teams. While both originally from West Virginia they attended Victory Bible College in Tulsa, OK focusing on the pastoral ministry program. With biblical training and years of student ministry experience they followed the call to join Pastors Hal and Lisa and a handful of others to launch Summit Church in 2009. After serving as youth pastors for 8 years they stepped into the Executive Pastor role to provide leadership development and encouragement to those who faithfully serve our community through Summit. Randy and Renee, live in the wonderful city of Elkins, WV with their daughter, and cat.
WORSHIP PASTORS - KEVIN & WENDY JONES
Kevin grew up in Kansas City but moved to Nashville when he was 23. In 2015, he moved to Elkins where he met Wendy when he visited Summit Church for the first time. Needless to say, he stuck around and they got hitched in June of 2017. In addition to serving as Worship Pastors, Kevin is a real estate agent. Wendy is a math teacher at Elkins High School and has a master’s degree in education. Along with helping the congregation enter into worship they also actively train and teach in multiple areas within the church. They love movie night and red velvet cake. Kevin and Wendy are honored to be serving as the worship pastors at Summit.
CHILDREN’S PASTORS - CHAD AND DEBBIE WARE
Chad and Debbie joined the staff of Summit Church in March of 2015. Chad is employed by Davis Health System they’ve been married for 16 years. They have a passion for introducing children to Jesus, and giving them an opportunity to live in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Combined they have years of experience working with kids of all ages. With four kids of their own, they’re lives are never boring, rarely quiet, and generally require large amounts of caffeine and chocolate. They’re passions are outreach and mission work; and opportunities to stretch the kids of Camp Summit beyond their comfort zone is always a ministry goal.
STUDENT PASTORS - NICK AND JILLIAN TOOTHMAN
Nick, a Steelers fan and chicken alfredo enthusiast, is a native of Fairmont, West Virginia. He graduated from Fairmont State University in 2013 with a degree in Finance and Business Administration. Jill, originally from Elkins, moved to Fairmont in 2013. There, she met her husband (that's Nick, by the way) and attained a degree in Communications and Journalism. She also loves cats and stand-up comedy, in that order. Together, the couple helped lead Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship and Trinity Young Adults Ministry while in Fairmont. Now, Nick and Jill are honored to serve as Youth Pastors at Summit Church and to make Elkins their home.
