Summit Church is made up of a friendly group of people from diverse backgrounds - some older, some younger and many in-between - who have come together to worship and to serve Jesus Christ.

At Summit Church, our desire is to have lively, contemporary worship, practical and easy-to-understand Biblical teachings, and a place where every believer can use their gifts and talents to serve the Lord.

From the time you walk through our front door, you will quickly notice that we are a group of warm and friendly people who will welcome you and try our best to make you feel comfortable.

Summit Church is also a place where we desire that everyone who comes to our services has a life-changing encounter with the Lord - their own Summit Experience, if you will.

We are a group of believers who are serious about the Lord's directive to take the Good News of Jesus Christ and His love to the world around us. We are dedicated to serving one another, our community and the nations in love and to taking the same life-changing encounter each of us has experienced to the world around us.

Summit Church is made up of real people who have experienced God's real love and mercy! Come and visit us and have your own Summit Experience with the Lord!

Our History

Summit Church began in Elkins, WV in 1991 in the living room of one of its founding members with about 18 people. The original purpose for the Church being founded was to have a faith-filled, Holy Spirit-filled environment for people from all backgrounds to have a place to join together to worship the Lord. The church moved to its present location on 302 Goff Street the same year.

In February, 2009 the church decided to change its name to Summit Church to more accurately reflect the vision the Lord had given our new pastors, Hal and Lisa Boehm.

What's Next...

Big things are happening at the Summit! Due to lack of space at our Goff Street location (especially for kids!), Summit is in the process of purchasing the American Mountain Theater in downtown Elkins. We have been leasing the facility since 2012 and are excited to now move into the purchasing process.

Working with the owners of the AMT, we have already extended the stage, enclosed the front portico and will soon be starting construction on our whole new kids wing in the back.

We are thankful to the owners of the American Mountain Theater in Elkins for graciously working with us through this process and are looking forward to continuing the partnership by leasing our facility back to them for at least five more years so they can continue the award-winning Branson-style show that has brought so many tourists to our area.
