In this capacity, he trained over 130 missionaries who are presently serving all over the world.

In 1996, Hal and Lisa started Catchfire! Ministries, a missions mobilizing organization designed to catch the church on fire for the nations and the nations on fire for Jesus. They have ministered in over 40 nations through short-term missions trips, mass evangelism crusades and leadership conferences.

Before Catchfire!, Hal had also been an associate pastor and a youth pastor for six years in Charleston, WV.

Lisa was raised in Greeneville, TN, and is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and was an elementary teacher in the public school system for thirteen years in West Virginia and Oklahoma. She also holds a Bible degree from the National Organization of Bible Institute.

Jeremiah & Becky Wentz - Associate & Worship Pastors

Jeremiah was raised just outside Baltimore and went to college at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK, graduating with a degree in Communications and Public Relations / Advertising.

Jeremiah came on staff officially in July, 2009. At Summit, Jeremiah leads the worship team, plays guitar, arranges special services, manages the graphic and website needs and teaches whenever Hal needs a break. In addition to his responsibilities at the church, Jeremiah also serves as the Internet Manager at Elkins Auto and runs 924design, a website and graphic design company.

With a background in multi-media and technology, Jeremiah's messages often include practical ways we can integrate our faith in our modern world, as well as the ways our culture and technology shape the way we view ourselves and the Gospel.

Becky was raised in Belington, WV, leaving in August, 2001 to go to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. She graduated from ORU in May, 2004, with a degree in Social Work. After interning at Tulsa Boys Home in Tulsa, OK, she has worked as a Foster Care Social Worker in Harrisonburg, VA, and, after moving back to WV in August, 2006, as a Social Worker with the Children's Advocacy Center in Elkins.

Becky homeschools their children and spends what remaining time she has left with her family and serving at Summit. She enjoys cooking, being outside and recently discovered a love for sushi. Becky is a gifted worship leader and loves helping others come into a better understanding of God's plan for their lives.

Jeremiah and Becky have been serving at Summit Church in various capacities since August, 2006. They have four kids; Isaiah Cole (born January, 2007), Malachi Jacob (born January, 2009), Reagan Elise (born August, 2011) and Cambrie Elizabeth (born November, 2015). Thankfully, all of the children take after their mother in just about every way.

Randy & Renee Ellis - Youth Pastors & Media Ministry

Originally born in Logan, WV, Randy moved to Charleston in 1992. He attended Living Faith Church in Marmet, WV, where he was very active in the youth ministry as a volunteer youth leader. With a growing passion for ministry, he felt the call to seek out an education in ministry. In August of 2004, Randy packed everything he had (which all fit into a Chevy Cavalier) and headed west to Tulsa, OK. There, he attended Victory Bible College, a Bible school under the ministry of Victory Christian Center. While working full-time and taking night classes, Randy received an education in Practical Ministry.

While attending VBC, Randy was involved in Straight Talk for Men, a men's discipleship ministry, as a small group leader and a teacher. He also volunteered with Virtue for Teens, a discipleship ministry where he was also a small group leader and teacher.

In the fall of 2008, Summit Lead Pastors and close friends Hal and Lisa Boehm approached Randy and his wife Renee about joining them to become the Youth Pastors at Summit Church. At this time Randy and Renee had just purchased their first home, were heavily involved in different facets of ministry at Victory Christian Center and had very good full-time secular jobs. But, Randy knew that God was calling him and Renee to Elkins to develop a youth ministry that would help the teenagers understand that they are worth the price that was paid for them on the cross.

Randy has 12 years of ministry experience ranging from teen ministry to men’s ministry, short-term missions, as well as sharing at local youth groups and camps about the message of Jesus. Randy has a heart for teenagers, an enthusiastic and warm personality, an ability to immediately connect with young and old alike, and a gift of communicating God's truth in a way that makes it easy to apply in today's complex society.

Renee’ was born and raised in Charleston, WV. She received a B.S. in Biology at WV State University. While she loved her home state (and her job), she felt God drawing her deeper into ministry which led to her moving to Tulsa, OK in August, 2004.  She graduated from Victory Bible College's Practical/Pastoral Ministry program in 2006.

While in Tulsa, she was the director over Victory Christian Center’s 24/7 Youth's "Virtue for Teens" discipleship program. She was passionate about this ministry because it equips young people to utilize their gifts and talents, live a life of sexual purity and find their purpose. Randy and Renee recognized there was a need for further discipleship for these teenagers, so they started a small group in their home. The home environment gave the teens a place to come that was non-threatening and a fun place to learn the word of God. They loved the kids, but, when they were asked to move to Elkins and develop a youth ministry, they knew God was in it. They were excited about the opportunity to share the love of God with the teenagers of Elkins.

Renee has over 15 years of experience in ministry ranging from children’s ministry, youth ministry, and short-term missions. She has a heart for teenagers, and, with her fun and energetic personality, it makes it easy for people to connect with her.

Randy and his wife, Renee’ have been with Summit Church since July of 2009. They have a beautiful daughter Abigail Grace and a loving but feisty cat named Dash. “We love the people here and feel blessed to be part of such a great church family. We are excited to see what God is going to do in this beautiful city!”
