Learning to serve selflessly and help others know the love of Christ is not just something for adults. This summer, from July 5 - 11, 2016, Camp Summit will be taking a mission trip to help serve at the Dream Center in Buffalo, NY! Here is all the info you need:

What will we be doing?
We will be partnering with the Buffalo Dream Center and Tasch Ministries International to minister to the population in and around Buffalo, NY.

Service opportunities include providing mattresses to families that do not have any, Adopt-A-Block trash pickup, a Mobile Food Pantry, assisting with a Summer Kidz Club, doing Project Prevention, Neighborhood Outreaches, nursing home visits and more. Specific daily projects will of course be tailored to the ability of each person and group.

How much will it cost and where will the money come from?
We anticipate the total cost for the trip to be around $495 per person (plus $35 application fee). Although we have several fundraising events planned, the majority of any mission trip fundraising is most successfully gathered through support letters that each participant sends out to their friends and family. What we have found is people give generously to youth who are doing positive things with their lives, especially if it includes bettering the world around them.

Sample support letters can be obtained from Pastors Chad or Debbie or by emailing kids@summitelkins.com. Any funds for souvenirs, gifts, etc. should be planned for additionally.

Talk to me about safety.
We know, this is a big one. Let's just say that we are planning on a 1:1.5 ratio of adult chaperones:kids, and maintaining your child's physical well-being is even more important to us than watching them grow spiritually. The Buffalo Dream Center and Tasch Ministries International have been doing this type of thing a long time and they have preventative measures on their side as well as our own to ensure that your child will return to you not just safe and sound, but also much more developed in their spiritual growth as well.
